HILLARYS LAUNCHES NEW RANGE OF SHUTTERS FOR ALL SHAPES, COLOURS AND SIZES
Hillarys, the UK's largest supplier of made to measure blinds, is delighted to launch a brand new range of made to measure shutters.
The new range is available in four different wood types to suit a variety of needs and budgets, a choice of four shutter styles and 50 stained finishes and colours. Customers can also choose to have their shutters painted to match their colour scheme by opting for one of up to 200 shades from either Dulux trade or Farrow & Ball paints.
The new collection also provides the perfect solution for awkward and unusual shaped windows as the shutter can be made to perfectly fit almost any form, from arched to hexagonal or circular and more or less anything in between!
Sarah Quilliam, head of product design for Hillarys believes that shutters are generally regarded as the ultimate in window dressings with the market for them already incredibly buoyant and set to continue to grow.
"Shutters offer an additional set of benefits to other window treatments," says Sarah. "They provide fantastic light control, privacy and extra security that works in any number of different room settings and house types, from traditional and period to modern and minimalist.
They're also a perfect solution for city living loft style apartments where the windows are often large and a main feature of the living space. Shutters help to keep the look clean and sophisticated whilst providing all-important privacy.
"Shutters are a lifestyle choice," says Sarah Quilliam, head of product design at Hillarys. " "People are seeing them as a fashionable but timeless way of increasing the value of their homes," she adds, "something that is becoming more and more important if the housing market is due to get a little tougher.
"They are also extremely practical and hard-wearing with a longer life span than either blinds or curtains and therefore an excellent investment."
Choice of Shutter styles
Tier-on-tier
This allows the top tier of panels to swing open independently from the bottom set, allowing full light to enter through the top of the window and you to admire the view, leaving the bottom section closed for privacy if necessary.
Café style
These are panels that only cover the bottom section of the window, creating privacy at the lower level whilst permitting full daylight to enter through the top of the window.
Full height
No surprises here - these are single full height panels that cover the whole window.
Tracked
Create a stunning room divider or cover large windows and doors with a folding tracked option.

Five good reasons to choose shutters:
- Versatile, practical, durable, good-looking and contemporary, they will add value to your home.
- They are a real style statement, giving a great focal point within the room.
- They are the definitive way of controlling light as shutters will effectively close off the window, allowing you to filter the light as you choose.
- Depending on the type of shutter you go for, you can actually have the top half operating differently from the bottom half to give even better light control - as well as the look you want.
- When shut, they can help reduce external noise and are a great way to keep out prying eyes and therefore a good security option.
The Hillarys service
As with their blinds, Hillarys offers a personal, made to measure service. A Hillarys advisor will visit the home to offer advice on the best shutter type to choose, measure the windows, bring samples and prepare the order in the customer's home. The shutters are then made to measure to the customer's specification and the same advisor will return to fit them perfectly.
