Key trends for conservatories in 2009
There are few better ways of adding space - and value - to your home than a conservatory. Whether it's a grand extension or simply utilising the largely wasted area on a side return, this additional accommodation can really make a difference to the way you live.
The best conservatories though are those that can be used all year round and therefore maintaining a comfortable temperature and privacy are essential. By adding blinds you can turn it into anything you want it to be, no matter what the season - a home office, cosy lounge, playroom, dining area or even an unusual guest room or bathroom!
And Sarah Quilliam, head of product design for Hillarys, predicts that bold botanical and tropical prints will be a key trend for conservatories in 2009. "As all things nature and natural are fashion's latest pre-occupation, so too is this reflected in interiors," says Sarah. "Earthy floral and botanical prints on roman blinds are an easy way to pay homage to this look and give a fresh
twist to bringing the outdoors in."
