Old fashioned Toile is one of this seasons hottest trends
"Old fashioned toile is emerging as today's prints charming," says Sarah Quilliam, head of product design for Hillarys, the UK's largest supplier of made to measure blinds.
"A quick history lesson - the name comes from Jouy-en-Josas, France, where the first factory to commercially produce this type of printing was established in 1760. The initial toile was a monotone, one-color print and typically the images told a story that generally depicted the day to day activities of rustic French life.
"Nowadays though, pretty much anything goes from classic to avant garde contemporary designs".
