Give your home some inspiration from summer’s favourite shows
From flowers to boats, British summer time is awash with shows and festivals from the gentile splendour of the Chelsea and Hampton Court Flower Shows to the blazer and boater spectacle of the Henley Regatta.
"Like afternoon tea, conkers and cricket on the beach, there is something very comforting and traditional about our summer events," says Sarah Quilliam, head of product design at Hillarys. "And with a few simple touches you can bring some elements of this quirky British style into your home this season.

"All things ship-shape and Bristol fashion are bang on the money for summer, although the look is more yacht club than pirate," says Sarah. "The odd nautical accessory won't go amiss and whitewashed shutters help complete the feel and give great light control which is very important during the sunnier months."
Shutters featured are Ascot from Hillarys, prices start at £300 per square metre, measured, made and fitted.
Flower power - Chelsea Flower Show 19 - 23 May
"Summertime and nature is back in focus but these days we want our horticultural motifs either overblown and dramatic or rose-tinted with 1950's nostalgia," says Sarah.
