Architect fits vertical blinds in stylish design
A leading architect has fitted blinds in a redesigned apartment in the American city of Seattle, reports the Seattle Times.
Jim Olson wanted to create a space which afforded optimum views to the surrounding cityscape, and opted for ceiling-to-floor glass windows, adorned with vertical blinds.
Kathy Ferguson and her husband, Gordon, are the lucky inhabitants of the 4,200-square-foot property in the Millennium Tower, and they told the news provider they were amazed by the transformation.
The couple wanted to be able to showcase their vast collection of paintings and pieces of modern art, and Olson’s design allowed them to do this, making the most of the natural light.
Included in the Ferguson’s collection is a collection of life-size sculptural figures and minimalist paintings.
Olson specialises in residential properties and in 2007 his work was recognised by the city’s local architecture society when he was awarded the Seattle AIA Medal of Honour.
