Blending raw edges with finer details can help create an exciting eclectic look, it has been claimed.
Blending the raw edges of made to measure panel blinds with finer details in a room is a great way to create an eclectic look in the home, it has been claimed.
Speaking to the Orlando Sentinel, reality TV interior designer Thom Filicia explained how this mixing of features is reflected in his own furniture designs.
He told the newspaper: “I like to blend refined details with raw edges, industrial with organic, Asian with African with American.”
Mr Filicia also added that he likes to put historical references and traditional elements into his designs, but in a modern way, which can also be achieved using wooden Venetian blinds in a modern home.
Last month, interior designer Debra Kacher of dk Interiors suggested that colours used in home refurbishments are being heavily influenced by fashion trends, which is expected to continue in 2010.
She added that there has been a marked move towards more use of colour in interior design for some time.
