Eclectic decorating means you can choose any blinds you want

If conformity is not your thing and you struggle to stick to a plan, then the eclectic style of decorating is probably for you.

The style borrows elements from other established decorating styles, including traditional, contemporary and casual, producing a unique result every time.

Decorating in the eclectic way means people can stamp their own personality on a room and incorporate a variety of features and fittings, including blinds.

And the benefit of decorating in this manner is having the freedom to cherry pick items and colours from different styles, meaning traditional-looking blinds could be fitted in a room alongside modern features.

It is important not to take things too far and create an eyesore, so although there’s no need to follow a rule book, it’s always a good idea to have some sort of plan in place when decorating a room.

Design expert Nina Campbell told the Telegraph that rooms should be redecorated every five years.
