Good blinds ‘are an investment’

Homeowners that are keen to renovate their properties should always view the purchase of blinds as an investment, according to one source.

The Atarimdesign.com blog states that the items should be viewed as an investment, particularly as they offer value for money in relation to other window-related products.

It explained that the blinds should last a long time, but added that property owners need to take care to ensure they chose the right style to suit their needs.

"Getting the right blinds that match your taste is important, because they will 'hang' around for a while," the blog outlined. "Blinds should also be easy to handle, which means they have to open and close easily."

In a recent column for TheStar.com, home improvement experts Colin McAllister and Justin Ryan revealed that they made use of white roller blinds in a recent bedroom renovation.

They claimed the items are ideal to use alongside drapery.
