Kitchens with blinds ‘important family spaces’
Homeowners should ensure they design their kitchen interiors with the family in mind, according to an expert.
George Clarke, a home improvements expert who has worked at the Ideal Home Show, said kitchens represent a key part of any family home and should reflect that.
"Kitchens are probably the most important spaces in any family home and they really need a lot of design time to get right. You have to think about exactly what your family needs so start by listing all of your requirements," he said.
Lighting is an important consideration and with the abundance of different blinds available there is plenty of choice on offer.
"Get as much natural light into the kitchen as possible by adding skylights in your kitchen roof or by changing old windows into new large, glass doors," Mr Clarke advised.
Interior designer Dave Cremeans told IndyStar.com that skylight window blinds invest a room with a sense of style and can also enhance the energy efficiency of a room.
