Lots to think about before buying blinds

There are a number of factors homeowners should consider before purchasing blinds for their living space, according to one commentator.

Writing for the Business Mirror, Mi-Ling Stone Pool said that before deciding whether to purchase panel, Roman, Venetia, vertical or pleated blinds, people should first consider the function of the room.

“For example, if your family room’s main function is for watching television, make sure that you’re able to control the light and black out the room,” she stated.

“On the other hand, if you have a beautiful view from your window and you don’t need total privacy, opt for a treatment that will allow you to take full advantage of your entire window.”

She added that people should also consider what style their decor is, whether is it modern or traditional, and buy blinds which blend in with rest of the furniture.

Homeowners should also take account of the position of their windows and how much privacy they want into consideration.

Last week, interior stylist Jeska Hearne told the Guardian that moodboards can be useful in decorating a room.
