Made-to-measure blinds – simple cleaning tips
A writer has laid out her key tips for cleaning made-to-measure blinds.
Rachel Catedral, blogging on articledashboard.com, said blind cleaning was a simple and straightforward process as long as the right guidelines were followed.
For made-to-measure roller blinds, use a soft brush attachment to vacuum the surface, then apply a sponge with a smattering of mild detergent, ideally prepared in warm water.
Another option would be to use a dry duster to clean the surface, Rachel said.
Most vertical blinds can be machine-washed, the blogger said, but ensure the weights, hangers and chains are removed first. Simply fold the slats into a ball, stuff them into a pillow case (making sure you secure the end) and pop it in the washing machine at 40 degrees. Stop the wash short of its final spin cycle and remove. Dry them somewhere safe and flat.
By following these simple tips, cleaning made-to-measure blinds will never need be a chore. All one needs, as Rachel says, is “an open mind and an industrious outlook.”
According to TipKing.co.uk, a small paint brush can be used to clean blinds, making the process even easier.
