Make sure blinds are on the to-do list

The abundance of things to consider when decorating a room can sometimes mean important aspects are overlooked, much to the detriment of the finished design.

Interior decorator Renee Hill told TheSunNews.com that one of the problem areas homeowners encounter is window dressings, with many failing to identify the right types of blinds.

Some labour under the misapprehension that measuring for blinds will be a chore, but top providers of blinds will actually do that on behalf of their customers.

Ms Hill said choosing blinds should not merely be about dressing a window, but also creating a focal point for a room and ensuring continuity throughout the space.

She said blinds could be chosen to match the walls, flooring or furnishings of a room, with each option producing a different overall effect.

Robert Cassidy, brand manager at Britannia Living, said patterned roller blinds could help people personalise their living areas.
