Painting tips for rooms with blinds

Painting a room can be a time consuming and costly exercise if you’re not prepared, but Channel4.com has offered some helpful hints to save time and money.

To minimise wastage, calculate exactly how much paint you will need, various paint specialists’ websites offer this facility.

Using the right equipment is also important to cut down on the time it takes and to achieve the right finish, with tools such as radiator rollers highly recommended.

Safety should also be a priority, so make sure the electrics are switched off when painting around plug sockets and light fittings.

Painted rooms should be left with adequate time to try, a process which can be sped up by using a dehumidifier, before fitting blinds.

Ideal Home Magazine recently said that giving walls a new coat of paint can help to accentuate blinds as well as other features in a room, but also stressed the importance of using the right equipment.
