Shutting blinds ‘could help people deal with heat’

Window coverings such as blinds can play a part in people’s attempts to beat the heat of high summer, one commentator has argued.

Blinds could help to prevent people’s properties from resembling greenhouse environments at this time of the year, Adam Konvalinka has commented in a feature published by UWeekly.

It may also be useful for consumers to clean their fans in preparation for periods of hot weather, he added.

The writer noted: “Do not let your home become a greenhouse – keep blinds and curtains closed during the day.”

He also commented in his piece: “Window air conditioning units are a popular solution to the heat.”

In other blinds news, householders with limited space may want to heed the comments Ooba’s KZN provincial sales manager Linda Rall recently made in an iafrica.com article, with the expert suggesting that a simple approach to window dressings could be adopted.
