Swift returns ‘may encourage green home improvements’, blinds owners hear
In order to encourage the nation's property owners to go green, people will need to realise the financial benefits that can arise as a result of environmentally friendly home improvements, an expert suggests, which may interest blinds owners.
According to the National Home Improvement Show's spokesperson Michael Holmes, people's understanding of energy efficiency measures may not currently be matched by their willingness to take action on this issue.
He stated: "If homeowners can understand that making a home more energy efficient is not cost prohibitive and returns can be made quite swiftly, then we may start moving towards a higher take-up of eco-home solutions."
The expert also pointed out the impact that cost can have on the willingness of consumers to green their homes.
Of those polled in a recent ServiceMagic survey, 58 per cent of people who were looking to remodel their properties said they were weighing up the green options open to them.
