Which Room?
Following on from the blind key facts a guide to which rooms suit which blind, of course Hillarys blinds can be used in any room to good effect, but some are specially designed for certain places.
Vertical
Particularly suitable for patio and French doors, can be used in any awkward window, for example bay windows, on a curved head rail, or conservatories and can be made to fit sloping and split drop windows. Certain fabrics are flame retardant (suitable for companies with strict policies and families with rebellious children!), and all reduce glare from the sun.
Venetians
Venetians are easy to clean and are perfect for hot or steamy rooms such as kitchens and bathrooms. Also suitable for bedrooms and offices. Some Venetians are flame retardant and all block out light, reducing glare on TV’s and Computers.
Wood Venetians
Ideal for creating a natural look indoors, suitable for all rooms but particularly lounges, dining rooms and bedrooms.
Rollers
Particularly practical for kitchens and bathrooms as they are easy clean. Blackout rollers are available which are perfect for blocking out the light in any room where excess light is a problem, therefore an ideal choice for bedrooms. Roller blinds are also suitable for skylight windows.
Roman
Suitable for bedrooms, dining rooms and lounges or anywhere you want to create sophistication and style. Blackout Romans are available to block out light in rooms affected by the sun or streetlights.
Pleated
Perfect for conservatories, especially roofs or rooms where you wish to reduce the temperature in the summer and retain the heat in the winter.
Woodweave
Especially suitable for dining rooms, lounges and studies and are excellent at diffusing light
Honeycomb
Suitable for all rooms of the house, especially those with draughty windows. Suitable for keeping in the heat in winter and reducing the temperature in summer, honeycomb blinds are very energy efficient and may save you money on your heating bills.
Top Tip: Remember if you want to have different types of blinds in the same room, i.e. Rollers at the back of the house and Verticals at the front, try to colour co-ordinate, many of our fabrics match up well with those from other blind types.
