She’s been part of the Hillarys specialist team since 2008, and loves meeting customers and discussing their plans for updating their homes. She particularly enjoys listening to their needs and helping to create the ideal solution.

She find the flexibility of the role suits her lifestyle perfectly – providing her with plenty of opportunity to work when she has the hours available but also time for herself too.

The specialist advisor focuses on selling products to customers. Fitting is carried out by a separate, skilled team. Organisational skills are very important to the role as it is up to the specialist advisor to ensure the whole process, from the initial visit to installation, runs smoothly.

While the technical aspects of fitting specialist products are taken care of by the installation team, specialist advisors do measure up in order to provide an accurate quote for the customer. So it is important they understand how the products are fitted.

"I started working for Hillarys in 2008 after leads dropped off considerably at my previous company and haven't looked back since," says James. "Every day is different but I really enjoy the challenge that each appointment brings.

"You do need to know your products inside out, plan well for each appointment and be prepared to work hard as you are essentially running your own business. You get out of the job what you put in and the income has been excellent. I work very hard in busy periods and then enjoy some free time when things quieten down.
