Summer Stripes

Keep your home on the straight and narrow this season

Keep your home on the straight and narrow this summer by introducing stunning stripes to your interior. Now’s the perfect time to take on the trend, as the pattern brings back fond memories of seaside holidays, deckchairs and sticky rock. So go on - make your décor earn its stripes!

When it comes to referencing the fashion, the world is your oyster. You could invest in a statement piece - such as a stripy sofa - or unleash your creativity and ‘upcycle’ an item that you already own. Alternatively, a new window dressing can give your room an entirely new look.

If you’re feeling brave, bright tones are a fantastic option to invigorate your surroundings.  And why stick to one show-stopping shade, when striped designs offer a fantastic opportunity to introduce several?

Traditionally, Vertical blinds have been used to add a single splash of bold block colour to your windows, but this isn’t always the case. In our living room, we decided to mix and match different louvres for an eye-catching effect.

Vibrant hues are always a popular choice for playrooms and nurseries, thanks to their lively appeal. In our little one’s bedroom, we chose a vivid print to match the primary colour palette. Our Circus Royale Roller blind also features a clever blackout coating to help ensure a good night’s sleep.

We liked this fabric so much, that we decided to pick out another colour-way to add a splash of fun to a sophisticated space.  Here, the jaunty feel of our Circus Hot Pink Roller blind complements the classic coastal theme perfectly.

This ‘nautical but nice’ flavour was also recreated in our bathroom, with the addition of beautiful boat ornaments and sleek starfish decorations. Last but not least, the pretty promenade stripes of our City Cherry Roman blind complete the picture.

In our kitchen, we also plumped for sizzling scarlet accents. Our Buxton Red Roller blind provides a dramatic focal point, set against the crisp white walls. While a contemporary shaped hem and metal pole supply fabulous finishing touches.

Over in our dining room, a cheerful ambience was the order of the day, so we settled upon a sunny scheme. Yellow accents give the monochrome room a modern twist. And these Maria Glow curtains - teamed with matching cushions - are brimming with summery style.
