Christmas décor ideas

Give your Christmas décor a stylish makeover with this seasonal selection of blinds, curtains and shutters. Take a look at our style tips for creating traditional and contemporary Christmas themes.

If you’re tired of the same old decorations that make your tree stand out for all the wrong reasons, then it’s time to re-vamp your Christmas décor. Whether you’re a stickler for tradition or a lover of contemporary style, we show you how to work the Christmas look.

Brushed metal

Metallic shades are everywhere this season, and industrial chic is probably the most stylish of them all. If you like your living space to feel a little more snug, soften the brushed steel tones with white, pearl and cream accents. We’ve used a cosy Tetbury Charcoal Roman blind at the window teamed with Leyla Jet curtains, while the traditional cast iron fireplace and charcoal sofa echo the industrial style.

Scandinavian style
Scandinavians know a thing or two about creating a cosy space to come home to, and this contemporary theme is inspired by all things Nordic. Natural materials and neutral colours combine with snowy white decorations, sheepskin rugs and warm woollen throws. The Stylish Silver Roman blind and Roche Ochre curtains enhance the warm tones of the wood.

Funsize Christmas
Here’s a lovely idea for creative Christmas lighting in a child’s bedroom. Simply wrap a tree stem in twinkly fairy lights to transform this summery daytime scene into a magical night-time grotto. For the daytime look, we’ve used matching Roman blind and curtains in Beach Huts Pink. (For your child’s safety, make sure that the fairy light electric wiring is firmly affixed to the wall.)

Gold, frankincense and myrhh
For a sophisticated twist on a traditional theme, it's got to be gold. To make this look work, keep the colour palette very simple. Deep forest green, white and gold decorations combine beautifully with an apricot, caramel and chocolate décor in this simply elegant scheme. The Glistening Gold Venetian blind creates a sparkling feature window.

Silver and white
For a fabulously frosty theme, silver and white work wonderfully together to create a shimmering space. Include cream and biscuit accents and add some quirky Christmas knick-knacks to make sure the scheme feels welcoming. These bright white wooden shutters will allow the Christmas morning sun to flood in, as well as adding a sophisticated finish that looks fabulous all year round.

Traditional tastes
When it comes to creating the ultimate traditional Christmas look, red and gold looks stunning in any décor. In this scheme the Christmas tree - simply adorned with red and gold baubles and bright white tree lights - creates an inviting atmosphere. The rich Bardot Deep Purple Roman blind and full length Stylish Lavender curtains are co-ordinated with scatter cushions in matching fabrics to add to the warm and homely ambience.
