Tap into this summer trend with sun-baked hues and splashes of cooling blue

Solid tracked Ombre wooden shutters in dining room

Desert shades

Dried palms, rustic styling and untreated natural surfaces define this pared back look, as we seek to create a more authentic way of living, worlds away from the always-on culture around us. There’s a new appreciation for the beauty of bare wood in all its glorious tones and textures.  Wicker and rattan furnishings have a ragged, worn down look and skeletal, sun-bleached branches stand out like ghostly sentinels. Hand-crafted ceramics and accessories are carved and etched, with imperfections that make each piece unique. Pools of refreshing blue break into this arid scene, providing an oasis of calm and cooling colour.

Tribal textures

Textiles have a fade-out look, with block printing and tribal mark-making creating a primitive feel. Shades of burnt orange, baked clay and gritty sandstone combine in this meltingly hot palette, with tufted edges, fringing and braids enhancing the textural, tribal aesthetic. Hard surfaces including polished stone and concrete stand out starkly alongside burnished copper and earthenware pots filled with dried leaves. Fill your space with earthy aromas and smoked wood scents to accentuate the raw, elemental feel.

Fjord Coral Curtains with Ombre Natural Roman blinds in bedroom

Naturally simple

Create a relaxed feel with linen-look curtains teamed with semi-sheer blinds. Choose simple stripes in faded, dustbowl hues to add subtle warmth and muted colour. Add to the textural feel with macramé wall hangings, jute rugs and animal skin throws. Finish the look with tropical greenery and splashes of refreshing blue.

Burnt earth

Add drama with charred wood tones and stark monochrome tribal prints blasted with fiery orange accents. Mix together natural wood tones, stone, worn leather and metal for a deeply textural feel, and soften the space with tactile cushions, tribal print rugs and fur throws. Here we’ve layered striking chevron print curtains from our Abigail Ahern collection over rich terracotta Roman blinds.
