To highlight the fabulous designs in our new Roller blind collection we asked lifestyle journalist and blogger Emily Murray to select fabrics from the range to create a vibrant Colour Clash bedroom

Emily describes her design style as playful, luxurious and pink, so it was no surprise that she was instantly drawn to the Somma Blush Roller blind from our new collection. Golden leaf trails cascading over a rose pink background provide the perfect starting point for this urban luxe look. To give the scheme some edge, Emily teamed the pretty blinds with textured Tetbury Charcoal curtains.

Create a vibrant urban luxe bedroom

Emily Murray, lifestyle journalist and author of The Pink House blog designs a bedroom that’s buzzing with ideas for using vibrant colour to design a cool and fabulous home

Dark and dashing

Emily proves that using colour, especially pink, in your interior design scheme can result in a look that’s bristling with energy and eclectic cool. By mixing up soft and pretty pink fabrics with a hard industrial aesthetic, this design takes an unexpected turn. Playful accessories, including the exotic birdcage lamps and lime green parakeet, pepper the scheme with splashes of vibrant colour, while gold bedside tables and a plush pink velvet stool bring a luxe vibe.

Textural twists

To really pull off this look, it’s important to include a variety of clashing elements. It’s not just vibrant colour that collides in joyful opposition; textures and surfaces must play their part. Emily has chosen concrete-effect wallpaper for her design. The crumbling, cracked and aged surface sets off the clean lines, shimmering metallics and bold colours to great effect, and acts as a foil for the edgier details in the room, such as the animal skull wall art and bright neon light.

Some like it hot

Even if you choose a single colour for your scheme you can pick out subtle shade variations to shift the mood within your design. Emily’s blush pink Roller blinds filter light to provide a rosy glow that’s tinged with golden accents. Pastel pink bed linen acts as a cool, neutral backdrop for a range of cosy patterned cushions and a fuchsia rug feels warm and comforting underfoot. The hot pink neon sign finishes this fun, feel-good look.

Future retro

Emily believes that the perfect home is one that makes your heart sing when you walk into it, and the Colour Clash trend gives you creative licence to bring together everything you love in one hectic, eclectic space. As well as mixing up lush tropics with country garden blooms and wild meadow flowers, Emily has included splashes of Mediterranean turquoise, luxe boutique styling, punk and disco.
