Calm Living Collection

Serene Dove

Conservatory Roman Blinds

The dove of peace has long been a symbolic sight at ceremonies or weddings and the pale grey hue has such a strong association that you can’t help but see it as a peaceful colour so it’s an ideal inclusion to our Calm Living collection. Choose a Roman blind in Serene Dove and you’ll have a blind you can use throughout your home with ease. The brushed cotton allows the fabric to softly settle in folds while the blind is drawn up without overly creasing, so you won’t even need to worry about that, just sit back, relax and feel the peace surround you.

Cleaning Tips

Roman blinds are easy to maintain with light, regular cleaning, without the need to remove them. The easiest way to keep your Roman blind clean and dust free is by using the upholstery attachment on your vacuum cleaner. Open your blind fully and carefully brush the fabric in a downward motion, paying special attention to the bottom and edges, as these attract the most dust.

If your Roman blind gets stained, first try to remove the stain using a clean, damp cloth, gently rubbing the affected area until the stain begins to lift. For more stubborn stains you may need to apply a specialist fabric stain remover. Check the product is appropriate for your Roman blind and follow the manufacturer instructions, being wary that you may end up with a clean spot which is significantly lighter than the rest of your blind. We do not recommend machine washing any of our Roman blinds. However many of our fabrics are dry clean only. Just look for the symbol on our fabric swatches, and always check with your dry cleaning company before removing your blind.

Child Safety

All Hillarys products conform to European safety legislation. When you buy a Roman bind, your Hillarys fitter will also install a discreet little cleat or hook for the cord to wrap around, so there are no loose cords. These are fitted at a minimum height of 1.5m above the floor. Having a safety device is a legal requirement even in homes without children. If you move home and leave your blinds you have an obligation to make sure they are legally safe.

FAQ's

I love the fabric of my Roman blind – can I get anything to match it?

Yes you can. All our Roman blind fabrics are available as curtains, and if you wanted to accessorise more, then you can have matching cushions too.

Do you sell blackout products?

All our Roman blinds are available with a blackout lining.

Are your Roman blinds lined?

Yes they are. We offer a standard lining as well as a blackout lining. And if you want to create a fuller, more luxurious look, choose our interlining option.

My conservatory becomes quite cold during the winter. Have you any suggestions for ways of keeping it warmer?

Blinds can really help get rid of the chill in your conservatory. Not only do they look cosy but they have a practical advantage too. Fully-lined Romans look warm and when pulled down, block out the outside world completely.
