Wood blinds ideal for bathroom revamp

The number of decorating themes that can be employed in a bathroom may make it difficult to know where to start, but one expert has advised homeowners to start with the walls and window treatments.

Interior designer Debbie Travis suggested to the Post and Courier that individuals who update their bathroom’s decor should start with the walls.

“A bathroom is not a large space, and you could really make a big impact by fixing up the walls,” she said, adding that new tiles, a lick of paint or even the addition of a towel rail could help.

Installing new wood blinds can give a bathroom a natural warmth and relaxing vibe, Ms Travis advised.

Subtle or neutral colours may be preferable in a smaller space, but those wanting to create a “closed-in and sensual” feel could opt for a purple colour scheme, she added.

According to a recent eHow.com article, fitting patterned roller blinds is a great way to liven up a bathroom.
