Pleated blinds are the most suitable solution for the roof of your conservatory. They can be tailored to fit the awkward windows while remaining neat and uniformed. But the real advantage of Pleated blinds for the roof of your conservatory lies in their performance.
Our range includes specialist fabrics with clever backings that reflect the heat of the sun to keep your conservatory cool in the summer. During the winter months the backing works in reverse, stopping the heat from the indoors escaping through the glass for a warmer environment.
The result is a regulated temperature for your conservatory that keeps it comfortable all year round. Each of the Pleated blinds in the Hillarys range is given a ‘sun protection factor’, which indicates the levels of protection the blinds provide against the heat of the sun.
This is calculated by looking at three separate factors:
- Transmission – the amount of heat from the sun that is allowed to pass through the blind.
- Reflectance - the amount of heat and light reflected away from the conservatory by the pleated fabric
- Absorption – the amount of heat and light absorbed into the fabric Our ‘sun protection factor’ is technically known as the shading co-efficient, which is calculated to International Standard ISO9050.
Pleated blinds are available in almost 100 fabrics suitable for the roof. The colour you choose subtly impacts on the overall feel of the room – as the light shines through the blinds it creates a gentle glow in that shade rather than a solid block of colour.
For a warm and welcoming look choose beiges, yellows and oranges. For a cool and fresh feel try blues, greens or purples. Whites, creams are perfect for creating a simple and calming mood.
As with the blinds around the sides of your conservatory, you’ll want to open and close your roof blinds quickly and simply. We're now offering remote control blinds for the roof, call to see if there is a specialist Advisor in your area for motorised roof blinds.
