The spring season is a time for fresh vibes, new ideas, and more energy. Read our practical advice and style tips for giving your home a spring makeover.

As the clocks move forwards, we’re getting excited about more sunlight hours and warmer temperatures. From blackout solutions to pretty pastels and sprucing up your window dressings with an all-important spring clean, let us help you prepare for those longer days and lighter nights with our ideas for spring home décor.

The best window dressings for spring

Here’s our top picks for spring decor solutions.

Voile curtains

One of our favourite ways to filter the bright spring sunshine, Voile curtains are elegant, contemporary and suited to all interior styles. They’re ideal for daytime privacy offering flexible light control and can be layered with thicker window dressings, like lined curtains, when the weather turns chillier.

Vertical blinds

Vertical blinds are an excellent, cost efficient solution for reducing light levels, especially with the addition of our specialist ‘dim out’ fabrics. This window dressing offers style, shade and privacy without breaking the bank.

Day & Night blinds

Our clever Day & Night blinds bring together the qualities of both Roller blinds and Venetian blinds, allowing you to switch between sheer fabric for diffused light and opaque fabric for complete privacy.

Wooden blinds

A wonderful way to filter the light, the slats of Wooden blinds can easily be tilted for ultimate control over light and privacy – think dappled sunlight filtering through leaves on a bright spring day. Choose faux-wood for areas of the home with high humidity levels.

Shutters

With their horizontal louvres which you can adjust to let in as much light as you wish, shutters are a practical yet stylish window covering. They’re also one of the most effective dressings for controlling temperature, keeping you cool when it’s hot and warm when it’s cold.

Say goodbye to sleepless nights

Our natural alarm clock tells us that when it’s daylight it’s time to wake up. But as we spring forward to lighter mornings and brighter evenings, you might not want the extra sunlight disturbing your slumber.

All of our curtains and Roman blinds are available with blackout linings to help create a restful environment all year round.

In this bedroom, we’ve layered our Harper Sunshine Roman blind with a blackout lining with the pretty pattern of the Daisy Spring Roller blind. The sheer Roller fabric means you can make the most of natural sunlight while maintaining daytime privacy, and at night the thick Roman fabric brings an added layer of warmth for a cosier setting.

Embrace a spring colour palette

Bringing the colours of spring into your home isn’t just about stylish looks, it's about creating a welcoming and uplifting atmosphere that reflects the spirit of the season.

From pale greens reminiscent of budding leaves, delicate blues mirroring the clear spring sky, and cheerful yellows echoing the warmth of the sun, soft and airy tones have the power to transform your space into a haven of springtime serenity.

These pistachio coloured curtains bring a soothing feel to the space, making them the perfect finishing touch to calming areas of the home like the living room and bedroom. Team with matching throw pillows and sheer Voile curtains for a finishing touch. The light will gently filter through while maintaining daytime privacy. In the evenings or when it’s cooler the curtains will add an extra layer of cosiness and insulation.

Smooth operators

For the ultimate in comfort and convenience, go for electric blinds. They work with just the touch of a button on a simple remote control and they’re smart compatible too, so you can operate one or multiple blinds with an app on your phone or using voice control via your Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.

Customer Lucie’s old window dressings let in too much light and noise from outside, so her advisor suggested layering curtains over electric Wooden blinds. The combination not only looks amazing but gives Lucie control over the light while keeping the space warm and snug when the temperature drops at night.

Bring home the blooms

Bring the beauty of nature indoors and celebrate the essence of spring with floral fabrics, potted plants and fresh flowers.

Floral patterns are a great way to connect your indoor and outdoor spaces, especially in rooms with direct access to the garden. Fully-lined curtains like these are a great blackout solution if your doors are letting in too much light. They’re fantastic insulators too, for those chilly spring evenings. From delicate blooms to tropical prints, there’s so many pretty picks across our range.

Take it outside

What better way to embrace the arrival of spring than to transform your outdoor space into a socialising haven.

Our motorised garden awnings are the perfect solution for managing that untrustworthy spring weather. By adding intelligent sun and wind sensors, your awning will automatically open when the sun shines and retract in windy conditions.

And there’s no need for blankets on those chilly spring evenings! With integrated heating and lighting features, your awning will help keep everyone warm and comfortable so you don’t have to call it an early night.

Get ready for Easter

When many of us think of spring time, we’ll also think of Easter. It’s the perfect occasion to invite family and friends over for a celebratory feast. But how can you create an Easter tablescape for all to enjoy?

The first step is to take inspiration from the season. Colour is a powerful element in a console table or dining table so follow the 3-colour rule and have one or two main colours and a secondary colour that compliments. Make sure you think about the centrepiece and the shape and size of your table. Decide whether you want it to be central or offset and how it will tell the story of your theme. For Easter, bright yellow tulips and mini floral arrangements create a vibrant table which suits the joyous feel that Easter brings.
