Book an appointment with your local advisor. It’s really quick and easy to do and there’s never any pressure to buy.
We’ll visit you at home to show you our pergola and we’ll measure the space and give you a quote.
We’ll take a technical survey and discuss the installation, which includes securely fixing into a suitable solid and level surface, with you.
Once your pergola has been made we’ll be back to install it and we’ll tidy up after ourselves.
If you like the look of our pergolas but need to cover a larger space or want more flexible shading, we’ve a range of awnings for the best of both worlds.
From buying guides to style advice, there are plenty of ways to transform your outdoors with Hillarys.
In most cases, you won’t need planning permission for a pergola, as they’re not considered permanent structures and can be easily dismantled if needed. However, there are a few exceptions to keep in mind:
It’s always a good idea to check with your local planning authority to be sure before going ahead.
During windy weather we recommend you open the roof louvres to an angle of about 45-degrees. This helps the wind dissipate through the pergola and reduces the potential for damage. To keep your side screens in great condition, we recommend retracting them when you're not around, especially during windy or rainy weather. This helps prevent any potential damage and ensures they stay looking their best for longer.
Your pergola needs to be connected to a power supply in order to operate the louvred roof, so you’ll need to have this in place before our exterior team install your pergola. Your exterior expert will discuss any necessary groundwork required during your appointment.
