1. How do I make sure I choose the right option for my window?

In most cases, the right decision for your window is down to your personal choice. You may already have an idea of the colour and style of curtains you'd like, but if not, your local advisor will bring our entire range to your appointment and help you decide. The next decision to make is if you'd like a curtain pole or a curtain track. Factors like if you've got limited space above your window, may determine that you need a track, but your local advisor will give you all the help you need at your in-home appointment.

2. Why should I choose a curtain pole?

Decorative curtain poles create a stunning look at your window. Choose poles with metal, wood or painted metal finishes to coordinate with your curtain fabric and room accessories, like light switches, and give your décor a cohesive look. 3. How do I measure for a curtain pole?

Curtains can be surprisingly difficult to fit, as you need to choose where to position your curtain pole in relation to your window and its width. If you wish to create the illusion that your windows are taller than they actually are, you could position your pole as high as possible above your windows, and allow the curtains to puddle on the floor. Your local advisor will give you expert advice and discuss the best options for your space at your in-home appointment.

4. Can I have a curtain pole in a bay window?

Yes, curtain poles are perfect for adding a sophisticated finish to bay and box windows. If you choose one of our stylish curtain poles specially designed for these sort of windows, your local advisor will fit it for you, as well as professionally measure, fit and steam your curtains to ensure that they look perfect.

Curtain poles are not suitable for curved bow windows. If you have a curved window you'll need a curtain track instead.

5. Why should I choose curtain tracks?

Curtain tracks are the go-to choice when you want your curtain fabric to be the focus, with a minimalist look at your window. Curtain tracks are made of plastic or metal and the curtain fabric is attached to the track with hooks. The track is fixed close to the wall or ceiling with brackets and the curtains glide smoothly along it. When closed, most curtain tracks are hidden by the curtain header, giving you a discreet finish. They are ideal for when there is restricted space between the top of your window and the ceiling.

6. Can I have a curtain track in a bay window?

Yes, curtain tracks are ideal for bow and box bay windows, as they are flexible, easily bending around curves and tight corners to give you a smooth finish that will follow your window shape. Curtains are attached to the track with smooth, gliding hooks. Your advisor will fit your track to the ceiling or the wall, depending on available space and personal requirements, and give you expert advice at your in-home appointment about our made-to-measure curtains.

7. Can any curtain be fitted to a track?

The header refers to the top of the curtain, where the fabric is gathered in a particular way. Each type of header provides a different look. Wave curtains need to be attached to a special discreet wave track, whereas curtains with a pencil pleat or pinch pleat header can be fitted to an ordinary curtain track. Eyelet curtains, however, can only be fitted to a curtain pole. This is because the round eyelets need a curved surface to glide smoothly across.
