Yesterday we made our predictions for who would win Lorraine’s High Street Fashion Awards 2016. We picked out our favourites in seven categories, based on who we felt had best interpreted this season’s hottest trends.

Lorraine viewers have been casting their votes too and last night the winners were announced at a star-studded Awards Ceremony. Today we can reveal who walked away with the top prize in each of the categories we selected.  Let’s see if any of our predictions were correct!

Category: Best Affordable Fashion
Nominees: F & F, Forever 21, George at Asda, New Look, Primark
Our pick: George at Asda
And the winner is…
This season is all about florals and George at Asda stood out to us for their great range of floral  designs to suit all ages, styles and events. They have everything from leaf print sundresses to tropical eveningwear. Our personal favourite is the romantic floral print jumpsuit below, with it’s flattering shape and on-trend colourway.

Take a leaf out of George at Asda’s Style Book and create romantic looks with English country garden floral prints; design a contemporary space with graphic leaf trails, or give your space a tropical twist with lush botanicals. See our Lorraine showcase for our take on these looks. Our Lorraine Showcase includes a gorgeous Freeda Violet Roller blind, beautiful Freyja Mustard curtains and zesty curtains in Origins Citrine from our new House Beautiful Collection.

Category: Best Curvy Collection
Nominees: ASOS Curve, Boohoo Plus, Evans, New Look Curves, Simply Be
Our pick: Simply Be
And the winner is…
This Summerwe’ll be turning up the heat with styles inspired by South American and African design. That means brilliantly bright colours, Aztec stripes, ornate mosaic prints and fabrics embellished with embroidery and beading. In our opinion Simply Be has got this look spot on with the hottest selection on the high street.

It’s easy to spice up a neutral colour scheme with this vibrant trend. We’ve chosen a Padro Blush Roller blind featuring a mosaic of hot shades and carried the vermillion and tangerine colourway through to the sofa cushions and accessories. A red rattan basket and hand thrown stoneware finishes this eclectic look.
best department store

Category: Best Department Store
Nominees: Debenhams, House of Fraser, John Lewis, Marks and Spencer, Selfridges
Our pick: Debenhams
And the winner is…
Lorraine’s style guru Mark Heyes has told us just how big blush and nude shades will be this Summer and we were blown away by the gorgeous looks that Debenhams are showcasing this season. Featuring lots of on-trend fabrics including lace, silk and chiffon, their range is exquisitely ethereal and feminine.

Combine blush and nude fabrics to create a soft and romantic bedroom scheme. We’ve picked a deliciously delicate Almond shade for our Venetian blind and teamed it with a voile curtain for a light and airy feel. Anouk Blue Mist curtains in a rose and latte wash complete the look. Accessorise with tactile fabrics in cashmere and suede and finish with a vase with fragrant blossoms.
Best menswear

Category: Best Menswear
Nominees: ASOS, River Island, Topman, Uniqlo, Zara
Our pick: Zara
And the winner is…
June sees the start of the Henley Royal Regatta and we looked to our menswear category for the best looks for the nautically challenged. Zara has done us proud with some great looks for style conscious males. From snazzy double breasted linen blazers to street savvy sou’westers and fisherman tees, there’s never been a better time to be a mariner about town.

Create your own gorgeous galley with these fabulous Roller blinds in Boats Teal.  We’ve made an eye catching feature of the patio doors in this stylish dining room by dressing them in this statement fabric. Available in moisture-resistant and blackout fabrics, Roller blinds are a stylish and practical choice for large glazed kitchen-diners like this. The bare bulb lighting, wooden floor and wishbone style chairs add to the functional, galley feel.
Best occasion wear

Category: Best Occasion Wear
Nominees: Coast, Debenhams, French Connection, John Lewis, Monsoon
Our pick: Coast
And the winner is…
This year, colour specialists at Pantone announced two colours of the year- a blend of Rose Quartz and Serenity. The colours are supposed to reflect our search for peace and wellness as an escape from the stresses of everyday life. So who has managed to combine these colours to best effect? For us it’s got to be Coast.  Their range skilfully combines beautifully cut plains and sumptuous prints and textures for a remarkable realisation of these soft shades.

We just love these textured Pleated blinds which create a lovely warm glow at the window. Pleated blinds are great for adding a hint of colour to pep up a neutral scheme, but also come in a range of performance fabrics, including thermal blinds for chilly rooms and blackout fabrics, which are ideal for bedrooms.
Best online retailer

Category: Best Online Retailer
Nominees: ASOS, Boohoo, Little Mistress, Pretty Little Thing.com, Very
Our pick: ASOS
And the winner is…
Ombre styles are still hot on the high street and we love the creative flair shown by ASOS with their ombre collections. From denim body cons to tropical beachwear, the range takes ombre fashion from casual daywear  to night-time glamour with the inclusion of gorgeous evening dresses in rich shades of plum and melon.

We love the way that ombre is being embraced by interior designers too. The clever wash of colour in ombre fabrics can bring a scheme together in a subtle and sophisticated way. We’ve used these fantastic Cascade Pebble curtains from our new House Beautiful Collection to create this restful space. The full length curtains combine chalk and charcoal accents in a soft ripple of colour.
Best trendsetter

Category: Best Trendsetter
Nominees: ASOS, H & M, River Island, Topshop, Zara
Our pick: River Island
And the winner is…
The final award is surely the most coveted and we’ve judged River Island to be the winner in this prestigious category.  Not only have they pulled off all of this season’s hottest looks with aplomb, but they have given their designs an edgy twist which makes them uniquely individual.
